Florida is a magnet for sailors from around North America. Every year countless sailors descend on Florida in search of an extended sailing season, especially as their northern sailing grounds become cold or frozen during winter.
Florida is also the southernmost destination for many cruisers who “do the Great Loop” and complete a circular route from the Great Lakes to Florida, and then back up the East Coast to finish the “Loop”.
